RASARAJA SRI GAURANGA, compiled by Gadadhara-prana dasa
From the preface of the book :
“Gadadhara Prana dasa is an ekanta bhakta of Sri Sri Gadai and Gauränga who has lived on the banks of the Ganges in the holy land of Sri Mayapura for more than Twenty years. Possessed by a strong urge to delve into the most esoteric aspects of the bhakti religion started by Sri Caitanya Mahäprabhu, he has come to know its secrets in a way that few, if any Westerner ever have.
The subject matter of this book is one, which may cause some consternation amongst devotees who have a narrow understanding of Caitanya Vaisnavism. Those who call Gauranga Nagara Vada an apasampradaya would do well to read this es-say. If one wishes to condemn Nagara Vada, he or she must also condemn many of Mahaprabhu's associates such as Narahari Sarakara Thakura, Vasudeva Ghosa, Murari Gupta and Sivananda Sena. Even if one finds that this mood is not to his or her taste, it would be wise to recognize that the ocean of bhakti rasa is vast and the flavors of love the devotees exchange with their Lord are infinite.
tam bhakti-yoga-paribhavita-hrt-saroja asse sruteksita-patho nanu pumsam yad-yad-dhiya ta urugaya vibhavayanti tat-tad-vapuh pranayase sad-anugrahaya.
O my Lord, Your devotees can see You through the ears by the process of bona fide hearing, and thus their hearts become cleansed, and You take Your seat there. You are so merciful to Your devotees that You manifest Yourself in the particular eternal form of transcendence in which they always think of You.
(Srimad Bhagavatam, 3.9.11)
