"KRISHNAMACHARYA" T-shirt
SHIRT WITH BLACK & WHITE PHOTO OF TIRUMALAI KRISHNAMACHARYA DOING NAULI KRIYA.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES ABOUT KRISHNAMACHARYA CAN BE FOUND IN THE BOOK "KRISHNAMACHARYA : HIS LIFE AND TEACHINGS" BY A.G. MOHAN, BUT I'LL DO MY BEST TO PARAPHRASE FROM MY MEMORY HERE - In the 1940's, T. Krishnamacharya hosted a radio program. Being a Vaisnava, it was only natural for him to begin and end each program with his respectful obeisances to Visnu, with the utterance of "Om Namo Narayana." After a few episodes, the station director pulled Krishnamacharya aside and ask that he not say this anymore, as they were trying to appeal to a secular crowd who may be turned off by any display of spirituality. So, the next day when it came time to host the program, Krishnamacharya opened with "The station director has asked that I not begin the program with 'Om Namo Naryana', so I will not begin with 'Om Namo Narayana' ". At the end of the episode, Krishnamacharya said "The station director has asked that I not end the program with 'Om Namo Narayana', so I will not end the program with 'Om Namo Narayana'" !
